There is so much happening right now that my head is spinning but nothing I can't handle! Pawsitive Beginnings is finally in action and we have so much support from the community and the surrounding shelters! My mission as host of Pawstive Beginnings is to get as many animals adopted as possible and to take a step closer to eliminating kill shelters in New York and eventually all of America. Think we can do it? I know we can! I will also be getting training to become certified to accompany our police force in animal abuse cases. They do not have enough people to concentrate on safely transporting and placing animals or to do all of the paperwork that is involved, so that is where I come in! A humongous thanks to Thomas Voght who is giving me the opportunity to have this training! A couple of weeks ago we went to James A. Brennan Memorial Humane Society to film an adorable greyhound/boxer mix named Pluto! He has about $20.00 of his adoption fee paid and he is such a sweet adorable boy!!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We are hoping to hear more about his progress very soon! If you want to see Pluto in action, you can check out our video on him by typing in Pawsitive Beginnings on facebook! We are also working with Ayres Shelter in Spraker :) We are very close to being able to eliminate euthanization as a whole in the United States and the main goal of Pawsitive Beginnings is not only to increase adoption rates in Fulton County and beyond also to eliminate the concept of kill shelters.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
They are overrun due to natural distasters, high spay and neuter costs, vet bills in general and</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
businesses known as puppy mills. Thank you to everyone who has supported us so greatly! We are really progressing nicely!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In other news, I will be competing for the Miss Fulton County title in just ten days! It is my last year of eligibility for the Miss America Program and I am really hoping that this year is finally my year. I competed in the Little Miss Fulton County Pageants when they were a scholarship fundraiser for the pageant and that is a part of my life that I will never forget! The Miss Fulton County organization has been such a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember and it is so hard knowing that this is my last year! I will of course be participating and contributing in any way I can after my eligibility is expired. I have the Miss Fulton County Pageant to thank for helping me to further my education, for helping me to make connections with others who have the same interests and for helping me build confidence which was almost non existent when I was a child. I originally started competing when I was young because I jumped at any chance I got to be on a stage, singing my heart out. It turned into so much more than that when I learned that the Miss America Organization is not only a way to express individuality but when I learned that it could also help me help the animals which is another big part of my life. Platforms became a requirement for the Miss America Organization the year I was born: 1989. One of the things I am so grateful for as a Miss America local titleholder, is how much it has helped me further my work with advocating for animals and educating the general public on how to prevent animal abuse and neglect. I hope I walk away from Gloversville Middle School on February 2nd 2013 with my biggest dream of becoming Miss Fulton County fulfilled, but if not, I am still a winner because of all the wonderful things the Miss Fulton County Organization has taught me! I will continue to dedicate my life to working with the elderly and helping animals. I am so blessed to have been a part of the Miss Fulton County Organization in any way. This is going to be a great final competition and a great mile marker in my life! Thank you for everyone who supports me in everything I do! I hope to make you proud on the night of February 2nd!</div>

Many found their forever best friends today at the Pet Connection adoption clinic on wolf road in Albany. A seperate adoption clinic was also held in Clifton park! I went to volunteer and help those who wanted to make an adoption :) The dogs were all outside and the cats inside but dont worry! The dogs were all dressed warmly in jackets and clothes :p Steve Caporizzo was there as were many of the furry celebrities that made an appearance on his Pet Connection show!<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The above picture is me with "Cappy". Along with him was "Amy". I believe Amy and Cappy both appeared on Pet Connection. They at least have a good home with their terrific foster mom until they are adopted! Cappy would lean right up against anyone who would pay attention to him. After awhile he would gradually make his way onto his back for a good belly rub which I gladly gave him :p</div>
<div class="" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
In the front of the store was the Kitten Angels organization and towards the back of the store was the orange street cats organization. Along with the orange street cats was Mrs. Brumagen! It was so good to see her! She and Chelsea are generously donating their time to make an appearance at "Bowling for a Paws".</div>

I met so many different loving animals who are every bit deserving of a forever home and neverending love! The problem with adoption clinics for me is that I want so badly to take every one of them home and I just cant until I find a home after graduation! :P Jeter from the Pumpkin Fund was adopted by a great enthusiastic family which was very exciting! congratulations Jeter!</div>

It was a successful event and I am so happy and excited for those who found their new homes today! After the adoption clinic I was able to catch up with Jackie! It was a much needed girls outing. Today I logged onto my computer in the library with an ambitious mood and ready to plow through all of my assignments. I got a lot done but now it is time for a little fun! ;) Chelsea Brumagen is one of my good friends and we share a lot of the same interests. She introduced the Pumpkin Fund to me which she founded with her family. I always enjoy her deep and moving posts in "You don't need a crown to be Miss America". When I checked it out today I found that she had nominated me for the "Leibster Award"! The Leibster Award is based on a pay it forward system and it helps to promote the blogs of young women who feel strongly about a cause and in our case the Miss America Programs/our platforms. Here are the guidelines and the meaning of "Leibster"<br />
<br />
Liebster is a German word that means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest,
beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. Here's
how it works:<br />
<br />
<li>Each person must post 11 things about themselves.
<li>Answer the questions that the tagger set for you plus create 11 questions
for the people you’ve tagged to answer.
<li>Choose 11 people and link them in your post.
<li>Go to their page and tell them.
<li>No tag backs! </li>
Here are the questions Chelsea chose for me!<br />
<br />
1. What's at the top of your bucket list?<br />2. If you were an animal, what
would you be?<br />3. In the spirit of Halloween, what's you favorite candy?<br />4.
Did Santa wrap your Christmas presents or no?<br />5. Have you ever broken a bone,
and if so which one?<br />6. Favorite kind of coffee?<br />7. If you had $100 and
you could do anything with it, what would you do?<br />8. Favorite color?<br />9.
Tell me about someone or something that has influenced you to be who you are
today.<br />10. If you were elected president, what's the first thing you would
do?<br />11. Who is your role model?<br />
<br />
<br />
<strong> What is at the top of my bucket list?</strong><br />
My focus is constantly on my platform. I would like to see a great decrease in the amount of animal abuse that occurs and a big INCREASE in the amount of people who are educated about it. I want to implement a list of offendors just as there is for child abuse so that people who harm animals can never do so again. I will continue working as hard as I can to help New York State strengthen and enforce animal protection laws until I have not another day to live. This is my cause, my passion and what I will dedicate a lot of my life to! That is quite a few things for the top of my bucket list but they are all in the same category right? :)<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>If you were an animal, what animal would you be?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have always been a very compassionate person with a concern for the well-being of others. Along with that part of my personality I tend to take the role of a caretaker which I also enjoy. I would be a therapy dog, because I care about others greatly and it gives me so much joy to know that I helped someone even if it was just in a small way. I am also studying Gerontology to become a gerontological specialist in a nursing home where I want to establish the "Eden Alternative". This includes bringing plants, animals and children into the nursing home environment to decrease the amount of required medication and levels of depression and to increase overall happiness, independence and comfort. The nursing home environment and hospitals is often where you will find therapy animals! Being there for others is a huge part of the Miss America Organization and is one of the reasons why I love being apart of it so much! The point of service plays a big role in my life and heart! I also met a famous therapy dog! Most of you probably know him: Bocker the Labradoodle! </div>

<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>In the spirit of Halloween, what is your favorite candy?</strong></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I am definitely one of those chocolate girls! I try really hard not to eat it too often though because it is pageant season already! However, women of the Miss America Organization are healthy role models. WE DO EAT AMERICA! :) <br />

<strong>Did Santa wrap your christmas presents or no?</strong></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
LOL I had to laugh right out loud when I read this question because Chelsea was arguing with her fiancee over this for some odd reason? :p gotta love her! and of course he did!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Have you ever broken a bone? and if so, which one?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I was very young, I was riding my bike at my grandparents house when I hit a crack in the sidewalk and went over the handlebars. I landed on my collar bone and broke it but I proceeded to get up and walk my bike back to the house. The Miss Fulton County pageant was that night and I looked forward to it every year as I still do! I knew if I told my grandparents they would take me to the hospital and I would miss the pageant so I did not tell them! They of course knew something was wrong, but they knew how important it was to me to go see the women I looked up to and longed to see every year so they took me to the pageant and to the hospital we went right after! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Favorite kind of coffee?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I actually do not like any kind of coffee at all. :p I love hot chocolate though! because, well, it's chocolate :D</div>

<strong>If you had $100 and could do anything with it, what would you do?</strong></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would donate it to the Pumpkin Fund so that they can continue helping animals get medical treatment. Vet bills are incredibly expensive and so families who cannot afford these bills need assistance in order to avoid euthanization! anything I can do to help prevent this tragedy, I will do and every dollar helps.</div>

I met Dianne Scribner when I was a little girl competing in the Little Miss Fulton County Pageant. I was singing "A spoonful of Sugar" from Mary Poppins as my talent and I won! She made sure that I had a rockin Mary poppins outfit and that I was on the right track. I did not have a lot of confidence as a child but the stage was my home and I knew it! I loved to perform and be in the spotlight but when it came to talking and interviewing, I did not have enough confidence yet. It is now 12 years later and I have my first title in the Miss America program and overwhelming confidence that helps me tremendously in my endeavors to advocate for animals AND people! Dianne instilled confidence in me and she taught me one of the most important lessons you can learn in life: Nothing is impossible if you have willpower, a drive to succeed and a big heart! Dianne has always believed that I can make it to the Miss America Stage and now so do I!</div>

<strong>If you were elected president, what's the first thing you would do?</strong></div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would really like to see America become a more open-minded place where one does not have to be afraid to wander from the solid line of the societal norm. I would greatly show my support for same sex marriage and send my love and support to those who struggle with this issue. I would also ban kill shelters and implement alternative solutions to the overabundance of homeless animals. These solutions would be along the lines of mandatory spay and neuter while lowering the vet bills substantially. </div>

Who is your role model?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have quite a few. Each one contributes more than one attribute that I strive to have! My mother and father were my very first role models. They are kind and compassionate and I am so lucky to have a comfort source such as them for one things get tough. Of course my role model is Miss America as well. She successfully upholds the four points of the crown and applies it to her everyday life. It would not be possible for me to do this as well without a great example! Lastly, my role model is Wangari Matthai. She unfortunately recently passed away but she will always be a role model in my life! She was the first african american woman to receive the nobel peace prize due to her establishment of the Green Belt Movement in Kenya. The Green Belt Movement empowered and encouraged women to restore their environment. The Kenyan Government met Wangari Matthai with great opposition but she did not give up on what she believed in no matter what punishments or obstacles they threw her way. She will forever be a reminder to me that anything I want to to accomplish is possible. There may be some major difficulties along the way but nothing worth working for ever comes easy! This is an attitude that will change the world and I'm ready to do that!</div>

<strong>Favorite TV show?</strong></div>

This was my onstage question at the Miss Oneonta pageant! You guessed it! My favorite show is the Miss America pageant. I do not have a lot of time to watch TV but you can bet I am counting down the hours every year when Miss America is scheduled to air! I am really interested in the different platform of the women and what they have accomplished for their causes so far. It is also really fun to get together with my friends of pageant world and to print out pretend score sheets so that we can try to predict who will win! :) We had a Miss America party last year at Katelynn's house!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJOr_vGA4fjzZeZI7tcx7Lc-SCzgOodFm_8T3L7QAFJRKdz_us90V3A3rA4Jj9CymwGbRmmnGnzKl0pn0Y2kP6Aju0SbCMkC7wsTSU1clooYf3Vy1scK1Dnp8WNnrK1QQqXKCq3He0vf8/s1600/408265_2783418237543_1414370597_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjJOr_vGA4fjzZeZI7tcx7Lc-SCzgOodFm_8T3L7QAFJRKdz_us90V3A3rA4Jj9CymwGbRmmnGnzKl0pn0Y2kP6Aju0SbCMkC7wsTSU1clooYf3Vy1scK1Dnp8WNnrK1QQqXKCq3He0vf8/s320/408265_2783418237543_1414370597_n.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<strong>Favorite book?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
My favorite book is BY FAR "The Bond" by Wayne Pacelle, The CEO and president of the Humane Society of the United States. In writing, Mr. Pacelle goes into detail about his endeavors to protect animals and tells heartwarming stories about each animal he met and how the HSUS played a role in saving their lives. Any animal lover will fall in love with this book. It really teaches us a lot about our responsibility to defend and be a voice for the voiceless.</div>

<strong>Describe yourself in one word</strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Generative. I strive in everything I do to hand down my knowledge to those who may look up to me or to those who will soon be following in my footsteps. One of my favorite things to do as Miss Empire Star is to go into elementary schools and talk to children about the importance of recognizing animal abuse and its signs. I then explain to them how to handle this situation safely. I believe that my generativity will help me to accomplish my goal of educating my communities about the importance of protecting our animals and how protecting our animals ultimately results in the protection of our communities in entirety.</div>

<strong>What is your favorite holiday and why?</strong><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I love christmas because it reminds me so much of my grandma! She absolutely loves christmas and it makes me so happy to see her so filled with joy. I get a lot of my personality traits from her. I love to give to others and it is probably one of the things that most gives me happiness in life :) Also, being a christian, I thank Jesus every year for dying for me <3 p="p"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>Where do you see yourself in 30 years?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As I said earlier, I will be a supervisor in a nursing home with the implementation of the Eden Alternative in which a nursing home brings in plants, animals and children into the environment of the residents. This reduces depression and the amount of medication needed and increases independence and happiness! I would like to be a supervisor of a nursing home that has flexible rules opposed to rigid ones so that people who live there do not feel like they are in an institution but in their own home where they absolutely have a say.</div>

<strong>We all support a cause, whats yours?</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As you are all very aware, my cause is Preventing Animal Abuse and Neglect. I take action for my cause in various ways. I started out smaller by organizing and hosting variety shows and food drives for local shelters. I am now visiting schools to talk to and educate children about the importance of respecting and loving our animals and I have also met with state legislatures/ prominent public figures about the importance of strengthening animal protection laws and what I should be focusing on the most within my platform. In the VERY near future, I will be doing promotional videos for adoptable animals as a sort of public relations method so that our communities are aware of their existence and of their need for forever homes!</div>

We are working on a few more ideas and the event will be held on November 17th! I will have Miss Empire Star's outstanding teen there which is my Madison :) Also making an appearance so far is Miss Fulton County, Colleen Gagne and Katelynn Smith, Miss Empire Rose. At the event my sorority which supports a philanthropy of Preventing Child Abuse In America will have a table to explain the organization and how animal abuse is a bridge crime. Assemblyman Tedisco is sending a represenative to help them with that as well as he will be out of town that day. I am so excited for this event and I really think it will be great! I will have more updates on it as the date gets closer!<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Last weekend I made an appearance as Miss Empire Star at an event held at Tractor's supply in Gloversville. The event was put on by my good friend Jef Conine and his friend Brian Matis. Brian has a lot of businesses involving horse training and horseback riding lessons. He would also make a great Mr. Empire Star if I do say so myself ;)</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The event was helf for the benefit of the Cat Sanctuary in Gloversville and Natasha's Helping Hand which is a big cat rescue located on route 30 in Mayfield! I will soon be visiting Natasha's Helping Hand to see exactly what a day is like at the rescue. I am very much looking forward to that. Steve Salton, the owner of the rescue was generous to show us pictures of his babies. They all have their own personalities and likes and dislikes. It will be a treat to be able to meet them.</div>

<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Horse back rides were given for three dollars each and it was a hit with the kids. It really helped us raise more money for the cat sanctuary and Natasha's Helping Hand as well! Jef was so generouus in donations for us to raffle off and finding other items as well. He donated a gold bracelet from J fine Jewelers and Tractor Supply donated a carhartt jacket. I met a puppy named Mason who was so curious about everything! We had farm animals and of course Brian's horses. Also there were free kittens looking for new homes! Here is Mason!</div>

I was honored to be a guest and to be among so many others who care. The highlight of my day was when a little girl came up to me with her mom saying she wanted to meet a "real princess" :) She told me her name was Aurora and so I reminded her that she has a real princess name! She was so cute and after finding out that she was the real princess she happily ran over to see the kittens haha</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
When I returned to school on Monday, it was time to prepare for the Miss Oneonta pageant! I represented my sorority in the pageant and it is a memory I will have forever. Plus great practice for <br />
locals!<br />

For my outfit of choice my sister Hannah Wightman helped me make a paw print skirt to reflect my love for animals and my platform in the Miss America Organization. Within the paw prints I puffy painted the letters of my sorority to reflect its importance in my life and the love I have for my sisters! The whole pageant was basically just public speaking which I really appreciated because any chance I get to practice I take advantage of! My little was an amazing hostess haha she always supports me in everything I do <3 abel="abel" and="and" best="best" came="came" course="course" friend="friend" from="from" home="home" it="it" kevin="kevin" me="me" meant="meant" my="my" nbsp="nbsp" of="of" p="p" parents="parents" see="see" the="the" to="to" up="up" with="with" world="world"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Friday night I was a guest at the Regional Animal Shelter benefit in the Gloversville Pizza Hut parking lot and the following morning, Sigma Delta Tau and Phi Kappa Psi hosted the walk for Berkshire Farms! On friday night I traveled home from Latham after a brief meeting with the owner of Spare Time Family Fun Center. I am not going to go into detail but I am about jumping up and down with excitement because of the plans we have made so far for the next event! More information will come soon ;) When I got back I immediately went home and dressed in my warmest clothes...minus the five inch pink wedges I added to my outfit lol those only lasted an hour and then i was opting for the flats. I fastened my sash onto my jacket and put my crown on and then headed out the door. I was immediately jealous when I got to the pizza hut parking lot because I did not bring a dog OR a bike! But what made up for that were the many opportunities I was given to talk about my platform and the reason why I was attending this event in my crown and sash. <br />

<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There was a piece of paper with the many donors of the event and it was so exciting and thrilling to see how many people came out to support the animals and the shelter despite the very cold weather. I met a variety of different people that night all with different personalities and interests but with one focus in common...the well-being of the animals and preventing abuse.</div>

I took the microphone to explain my reasons for being at the shelter and why I have such a passionate love for animals. In the picture you have a clear view of my pink wedges of death! :) The grand creator of "Fulton county and beyond" was in attendance along with Mayor Dayton King! Thomas Voght and his son Thomas Voght Jr. founded the 2Wheels Bike night in a parking lot of a Cumberland Farms and turned it into an event to help the animals out of the generosity and kindess of theitr hearts. They are already planning next years event at an earlier and warmer time!</div>

The event had a great turn out and was something anyone would have been disappointed to miss. I am more than happy that I was able to come down from school and make an appearance. I was able to talk to Channel Thirteen news about my platform and how much we really needed the regional animal shelter in our area. The best part of the night was just being able to be home and talk to those who have the same passion as I do. Also, it is amazing to see the beautiful relationships between pets and their owners. Many people came out with their own dogs and one dog was adopted right there while another is having paperwork done for her adoption in the next couple days. Elliot is a chocolate lab puppy who was adopted by Gordy and Debbie Suits. They were so happy to welcome Elliot into their home due to the fact that their dog had passed away and they are retired. It is for certain that Elliot will have a very happy long life with his new owners :)<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7kqX2NJmKhuDOKTs6T8zALd6udv9IYQzAZxoiHrLXJuEBZBMESUDjv6JhgyyRi1UeESI5ePtRAimAcIIeE106nXRZj8ykNdKQB4yueSJgWlW4LRv6EX90rCUpv3GEDKWsfdrzgVi8EJs/s1600/427956_10151088775921987_396767481_n.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7kqX2NJmKhuDOKTs6T8zALd6udv9IYQzAZxoiHrLXJuEBZBMESUDjv6JhgyyRi1UeESI5ePtRAimAcIIeE106nXRZj8ykNdKQB4yueSJgWlW4LRv6EX90rCUpv3GEDKWsfdrzgVi8EJs/s320/427956_10151088775921987_396767481_n.jpg" width="239" /></a></div>

The total amount of money that was raised for the regional animal shelter was over 1600 dollars! Thank you so much to those who came out to spend some time with the adoptable animals and those who would give their lives for their well-being!</div>

On Saturday morning after I had travelled back to Oneonta, the walk for the Berkshire Farms took place in the alumni Field House on campus. Berkshire Farms Center for Youth Services deals with helping children and their families work through life problems, offers counseling services and more. We raised total of 700 dollars!</div>

Even though it rained a little bit, it was a great time filled with love and appreciation for our pets and companions. Bailey and Max saw the leashes come out and knew it was time to get in the back of the truck! They always get so excited to go for rides and they were running back and forth all the way to Gansevoort so afraid that they might miss something on one side or the other :p When we got to the benefit I realized that I had only grabbed one of the leashes so my father had to make a makeshift leash to fill in for Max. It can be seen in various pictures as a cable used to hold things onto the back of cars haha. Chelsea was at the registration table and I stopped to talk with her for awhile. She is so dedicated to her platform and to the Miss America Program which I really appreciate about her. It is really nice to have someone with the same platform who cares about these issues as much as I do. I am very excited for this year and to see her title. She will be competing in Miss Finger Lakes on February 16th which is her grandmother's birthday so it has to be a sign! She is everything a titlehold should be:)<img alt="" class="spotlight" height="274" src="https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/p206x206/546235_10151072181706987_2076552495_n.jpg" style="height: 648px; width: 486px;" width="206" />I had a little difficulty getting the picture of her and I to save to my computer so I copied and pasted it. It isnt very clear lol I was very impressed with the event as a whole! There were a lot of different vendors and stations set up for cat adoptions. The cats were very well taken care of and kept out of the rain. They each had a description of their background, dislikes and likes. Three were adopted that day!<br />

When we got back from the walk it was time to bless the animals! a catholic priest came and splashed holy water on the animals to bless them and it was really sweet :) Max kind of looked at him strangely as if to say "What did you just do to me?" It gave me a laugh lol. Chelsea's godson and his brother came over to talk to me about their two black labs "Libby" and "Sam". You could tell they loved their dogs very much and they were so excited to tell me their stories. I told them that Bailey and Max are very much like Sam and Libby in that they are best friends and love eachother very much :) They are animal rights leaders of the future! Bailey and Max began to get very tired out and so we waited for the raffles to end and I thanked Chelsea and her mother for a great time! We got some nice pictures with Bailey and Max and then we headed home with two exhausted dogs! Tanis Brumagen is such an amazing lady. She wrote the story of Pumpkin who she named the organization after in a book and as I read it, it was difficult not to cry. To imagine all of the things she went through with Pumpkin and having to go through it with your own pet. I am grateful to know such a loving and compassionate family!</div>

It felt weird to not be in New York where I do all of my volunteer/platform work but it was a very interesting experience. On sunday, my friend Kyle dropped me off so that I could go to an appearance at the street fair held in Albany! The "Timeless Tappers" were performing there but unfortunately I could not make it back in time to see them. The appearance was definitely a highlight to my week though! There were so many amazing volunteers that were there to do the same thing Katelynn and I were. There were some there to educate people on the importance of supporting local farmers and growers. Some were there to support children and extracurricular activities and there were so many animals I could not stop smiling! <br />
<br />
This is wooly! He is a young newfoundland who was having a great time just walking around the fair with his owner. :) He was definitely an attention catcher and you could tell he was used to getting loved!<br />

<br />
<br />
Katelynn and I also were given a quick tutorial on how to play chess and were asked to make an appearance at one of the chess tournaments! I am looking forward to being able to do that!<br />

Tomorrow is the day of the Celebration of the animals and Pumpkin fund pet parade! I have been waiting for sunday to come for weeks now! I held my benefit for the Pumpkin Fund at Walmart in Gloversville. It was such a successful day for me not only because I raised one hundred dollars for the Pumpkin Fund organization, but also because it presented me with so many opportunities to advocate for my platform and to just discuss the important issues involving animal abuse and neglect with the public of my home town. The pumpkin Fund is an organization introduced to me by Chelsea Brumagen who is one of my great sisters in the Miss America Organization. Her and her family founded the organization with a purpose to help families overcome expensive medical bills so that their pets do not have to be euthanized should they become ill or injured. It is an all too common situation for vet bills to become too expensive for families to afford and our pets suffer the consequences. For my benefit I made up a couple posters. One was an explanation about the Pumpkin Fund itself and the other was based on the Miss America Organization and my platform. Because my platform is "Preventing Animal Abuse and Neglect", I really wanted to get involved with this project and offer a hand in ending the suffering that is all too common for animals in today's world. I sold homemade peanut butter and wheat dog biscuits along with my mom's famous chocolate chip cookies, some pet supplies (including dog toothbrushes! :p) and baskets. Here is the cat basket Dianne put together for me!<br />

She also put together a dog basket and a movie kit basket! They looked so professional and I was grateful for her and my mom for doing the things I probably would not have done such a great job on LOL. During the day I was visited by Karol Trombly and Heidi Christiano which was really nice because I was there alone. They are such wonderful women with huge hearts! I really enjoyed my conversation with them and it made the time in the sun go by a little faster! I bought adorable crowns and brought a basket of bears so that I had some things to give to little boys and little girls free of charge! One little girl who wanted a crown took a picture with me. She was such a little supermodel! however it was a little difficult to get her to look at the camera because she was mad at mom for not giving her the purple crown instead! LOL!</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was such a successful day and it really lifted my mood to be able to get out in my crown and talk to the public about the importance of my platform. I have found that with a crown, people are more likely to listen to what you have to say. They are more likely to take you seriously and it does make it a little easier to be heard. so I use my crown and my pin promoting adoption that I wear on my sash as a conversation piece. As a way to start the conversation about the importance of animal rights and the many issues that need attention in the animal rights world.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
There were several people who stopped to tell me the stories they had of adoption and finding their best friend. It is never a wasted day when I can make a difference for these animals and the people who share the same passions as I. Tomorrow I will take a lot of pictures at the Pumpkin Fund walk! I am taking my two dogs! It is going to be so much fun! Stay tuned :)</div>

I have a lot for you all! I hope you can handle this post lol! I have officially completed my first Miss New York pageant and it was the most amazing experience of my life! I learned so many new things and different ways of doing things. It really changes your perspective on everything from your reasons for competing to just how important your platform really is in your life. At least it was that way for me! Upon arriving in Staten Island, I had had barely any sleep but it did not matter one bit because I was so excited it served as my energy source! This is what I had been working towards for so long and I was finally there! We had an appearance right away and were tolde to be on the bus dressed nicely. In the photo below we took a quick picture before boarding the bus. The Hilton had hung a huge welcome sign for us and everyone wanted pictures!<br />

We were privileged to visit the Borough President James Molinaro's office and I rode the ferry for the first time! The thing I was the most amazed by was being granted entrance to tour the ground zero sight. My father responded to Ground Zero when he was in the air force and so it meant a lot to me to have such an amazing opportunity. People had to get their tickets months ahead of time and here we were walking in, each crown setting off the metal detector at the entrance haha. We had some extra time so we stopped on the streets to take pictures with those around and at different interesting sights. On wednesday Kailtin Monte brought us to a catholic school where we participated in a Project Empower event based on bullying. We were eacgh assigned a group of outstanding kids. Each had their own personality and they brightened my day tremendously! The children were given a posterboard, some markers and some scrap paper and were then sent to work with their imaginations as their only tool. I was there to help them if they needed anything and to support them. They hardly needed me at all! They were so intelligent and creative all on their own. I let them do what they wanted to do completely because this was their project. Each group prepared a presentation on campaigning against bullying and the winner of the contest would win tickets to the teen pageant in a couple days! A lot of them came :)</div>

We had interviews in the morning and I was contestant number two. I felt so great about my interview and I intensely appreciated the kindness I felt from the judges. We were given some time to relax and then we were off to the theatre to start our first night of preliminaries! Swimssuit and evening gown was the name of the game on night one! It was so much fun and while I was onstage I realized that is really all that matters and with that I beamed across the stage as if there were no judges at all! It felt great! After each night of prelims we were given time to visit with our families and friends in the lobby of the Hilton. I met with my parents, dianne and Tony, Janet and Kathleen. It was so great to see them after three days apart. Friday night preliminaries were a little more nerveracking f or me because it was my turn for onstage question! I tend to enjoy the challenge though. Desiree Wiley snagged a well deserved win in swimsuit and evening gown in yesterday's competition and Shannon Oliver took talent! They are both great girls and deserved every bit of it! For my talent I sang "A New Life", from Jekyll and Hyde the musical. I was nicknamed "sweet voice" by the one and only Kent! (Our hilarious and very talented director.) I ended up winning the non-finalist talent award at the gala on Saturday night. I was very excited that I<br /> won an award at my first Miss New York pageant! Colleen <br />Gagne won Miss Congeniality as well :) One thing is for sure: I was very lucky to have my friends there with me for my first year. A pageant girl should be able to hold her own and remain in control in every situation but even a pageant girl has to admit that it is nice to know someone has your back just in case there is one time you can't be perfect! Colleen, Courtney, Katelynn, Misty and I had a great experience together. Cheers to the Fulton County girls! We were all very flattered to be abloe to chat with an aspiring Miss America by the name of Gabriella Lexer! She was very much interested in what was happening during the week and so my roomate Katelynn Smith skyped with her to fill her in. This young lady founded a program called "Bald for Bucks" and even shaved her own head for the program to create hope for cancer victims. She is the kindhearted girl with a heart of gold that you hear about and are blessed to meet if you cross her path. I know I have told you many times before Gabby but you are such an inspiration and we love you! you can visit Gabriella's blog here:<a href="http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fgabriellalexer.blogspot.com%2F&h=HAQGnZP1n" rel="nofollow nofollow" target="_blank">http://gabriellalexer.blogspot.com/</a> . My teen can NOT go unnoticed let me tell you. This young woman has so much heart and so much maturity wrapped up in a whole lot of talent. I am honored and blessed to be able to say that Madison Manuel is Miss Empire Star's teen. She did an amazing job in the competition and I got to spend some time with her and her mother Robbin who has joined the band of pageant mom's with Dianne and my mom haha. I love you guys very much and I will always be there to support and love you as often as you have done the same for me! Congratulations Mallory Hytes Hagan on your well deserved win!!! I am very much looking forward to the various projects I have in the works right now! I will continue my work as <br />Miss Empire Star and make my organiuzation proud! I will be volunteering at the Regional Animal Shelter, working on the start of Project empower in upstate New York, visiting the Children's Miracle network hospitals, volunteering at Saturday adoptions at Petsmart and working my tail off to establish my own little pet connection segment in my area on a local radio station or cable network. I am very excited about a certain event I will be organizing and I am pretty much dying to write about it on here but it has to remain under wraps for now! This is going to be an amazing year!</div>

I am officially home from school for the summer! Last weekend Katelynn and I had a car wash at the Perth Volunteer Fire House. It was such a success! We made 276 dollars for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals! Our mothers are so amazing I have to say. They made it possible to have an additional bake sale, held signs by the road and even ran up to help us wash cars when we had a line!<br />

It was so exciting to see the result of so many who have worked extremely hard. Some taking this on as their full time job! Councilwoman Anadio had this vision and made it come true! It meant so much to me when I told her I liked her cat pin and she gave it to me. It reminds me of the many people who are in this cause for the same reasons I am; their love for animals! I attended my second meeting this past tuesday because I am back from school and able to attend! It was mentioned that Martha Herringshaw of Gloversville has been making monthly donations to the shelter as long as the shelter sends her envelopes and stamps. It is important to recognize these people behind the scenes such as the amazing donor who sent an anonymous 20,000 dollars to the shelter five years ago which played a huge role in where the shelter is today! I will upload pictires soon! I am off to katelynn's to figure out our princerss event for sunday! I will also be traveling to Schenectady to meet with Assemblyman Tedisco tomorrow! He was a key factor in the establishment of Buster's Law and so I want to talk with him about that and my platform. The pageant is in less than a month! Getting extremely excited!</div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-9240903261077219022012-05-07T15:28:00.000-07:002012-05-07T15:28:09.326-07:00School is ending and although I work on pageant business while at school, the pageant life will be picking up a lot more! I am soo excited for this opportunity to compete for the title of Miss New York. This is not an opportunity that is just presented. You have to earn it and I am so proud of myself for doing so! I have a lot of appearances coming up! I will be attending the opening of the regional animal shelter in Gloversville NY which I will also be volunteering at over the summer! The day after the opening of the animal shelter I will be heading to Schenectady to meet with Assemblyman Tedisco. It is important to me to get the input of public figures who have had a lot of experience in the animal rights world! As a lot of you know, I was privileged to be able to meet with Steve Caporizzo of Channel ten news. I am hoping to gather the information from Assemblyman Tedisco and add it to the advice that Steve was able to give me. ( I was permitted to call him Steve! :p) I will also be meeting with Wayne Pacelle, the President and CEO of the National Humane Society of the United States! If anyone knows of him you should really check out his new book "The Bond" which goes in depth about the importance of defending animals so that we can better protect not only them but our entire society. It is so exciting to meet with someone who is just as passionate about my platform as I am! <br />
<br />
One of the main purposes of my blog is to not only keep you up to date on my appearances but to continue educating the public about animal abuse. I keep up on animal news and events so that we can be better aware of how important animals are to our society and our call to protect them. I recently read an article about an animal activist by the name of Camille Marino who was arrested on February 4th. The reason for her arrest was due to a protest against the torturous death of two monkeys at Florida University. She was arrested on charges that involved her campaign against the vivisections that took place. Her main protest target was Donal O'Leary, an animal experimenter. For the past 20 years Mr. O'Leary's experiments have been found to be in extreme violation of the Animal Welfare Act. With tax dollars he performed a horrifying experiment on a dalmatian named Queenie. Queenie had had a terrible life of anguish already after being abandoned and left in a shelter. She was very scared and in no way in control of anything that happened to her. O'Leary opened up her chest to insert a device into her. After a second surgery she was forced to run on a treadmill with catheters sticking out of her and cuts that were leaking fluid. This caused her a great deal of pain and panic. Queenie later died of the devices that were surgically placed into her due to one of the devices breaking and getting into her bloodstream. Camille Marino was and is outraged as any animal lover/activist would be. She is willing to suffer any cost to help these animals who are put in ruthless positions of helplessness. It is men and women like her who show an example for the world that is above and beyond the expectation of an animal activist. Camille began to post information about O'Leary's experiments on the internet. She was met with a request that she stop posting his information through a court order even though his information has proven to be very easy to find on one's own. I wanted to tell Camille's story on my blog because I believe it is an amazing example of how far we must go to protect animals. It shows that it is not easy all the time to stand up for what you believe in and to protect another. Right now Camille is in need of overwhelming support that I hope we can give to her as fellow animal lovers and citizens of the United States. The lives of many animals that were lost in these experiments must be honored and we must prevent the further killing and torturing of animals in the future.<br />

As Miss Empire Star I have been doing all in my power that I can to educate our society about these happenings. It is extremely important to me to start at young ages. I very much enjoy visiting elementary schools and talking to children about the importance of protecting their pets and with the advice I have been given by outstanding public figures I have made great strides in my fight for animal rights. I will continue to make appearances and meet with those who can help me make a difference. Please spread my message and help me in my endeavors!Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-79502006064827902592012-04-19T20:49:00.007-07:002012-04-19T21:10:50.541-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnkeeGI0LCBazMhVaRI4baMNiZq-7-ngkn2T30r7bILSd2T-wPsVUYQAQTK_9FxP1VMsJyQVDMdujVUbp_t5GNV3KsunKyMimdjhbyyy13GuftZJgRHwRxhH2uwnMlMHiP7eUYPlZl8PA/s1600/580283_3795216884782_1408002244_3532946_2020355162_n.jpg"><img style="width: 320px; height: 240px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733329918175612978" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnkeeGI0LCBazMhVaRI4baMNiZq-7-ngkn2T30r7bILSd2T-wPsVUYQAQTK_9FxP1VMsJyQVDMdujVUbp_t5GNV3KsunKyMimdjhbyyy13GuftZJgRHwRxhH2uwnMlMHiP7eUYPlZl8PA/s320/580283_3795216884782_1408002244_3532946_2020355162_n.jpg" /></a><br /><div><div><div><div><div>Tonight I had the amazing invitation to attend the Herlife Magazine red carpet event at the Saratoga National Golf Course! We were mistaken as tulip festival contestants a couple times but thats okay! The event was very short but it was very productive in that we were able to further educate all of these already highly intelligent people about what Miss America is really about! I am so blessed everyday to have this opportunity to carry the title of Miss Empire Star so that I can continue to talk about what is important to me and make an impact. As Kaitlin Monte, Miss New York 2011 told all of the girls; it is not how many appearances you make or how many titles you win. It is not about how good your hair looks or about the crown itself. It is about how many people you make a difference for. It is about how much of an impact you have when you talk to communities about important topics such as bullying prevention, animal abuse prevention, higher education, ANYTHING that can produce positive changes! We are not just beauty queens who show up to appearances to look pretty. We have things to say and one mission, and that is to inspire as positive role models who put everything into what we are passionate about. Our organization and our platforms. I am one of those contestants who wants the keys to that car. I want the car because I want to drive it everywhere with the impacts I make for others as my fuel to keep going. That is what really matters to me and I am so happy to be competing with 25 other girls who feel the same way!</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV620MF7aBbYOa6IehYofNS8JxYn8cpz-FZJxybedX4tgcaTXipfYCEUc3W3-IhwDOiJJggVEPnmAK7gX80_C0Ts0ZLw2zWXxApk_2fbMIjPGn9IwIW7DaHG2FHkUQBKDdBCWKTZja7Ao/s1600/527359_3795214364719_1408002244_3532944_2111052588_n.jpg"><img style="width: 311px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733330063637881250" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhV620MF7aBbYOa6IehYofNS8JxYn8cpz-FZJxybedX4tgcaTXipfYCEUc3W3-IhwDOiJJggVEPnmAK7gX80_C0Ts0ZLw2zWXxApk_2fbMIjPGn9IwIW7DaHG2FHkUQBKDdBCWKTZja7Ao/s320/527359_3795214364719_1408002244_3532944_2111052588_n.jpg" /></a></div><div> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfZjERewLE6UoKGf5HX6fTBDG3MQ0hg2UhVCt_5Rk0uhkaoNwv-MFrmtvRMSyE4bmk10lap0bb7zTDLw5Y0hjDobhHFxjTUSPjI6n-KTmjk99MlYW0Kavt6lvhVZPSVDoW7n-olo67Uio/s1600/561788_3795212084662_1408002244_3532942_1088399849_n.jpg"><img style="width: 240px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5733330398330027378" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfZjERewLE6UoKGf5HX6fTBDG3MQ0hg2UhVCt_5Rk0uhkaoNwv-MFrmtvRMSyE4bmk10lap0bb7zTDLw5Y0hjDobhHFxjTUSPjI6n-KTmjk99MlYW0Kavt6lvhVZPSVDoW7n-olo67Uio/s320/561788_3795212084662_1408002244_3532942_1088399849_n.jpg" /></a></div></div></div></div></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-69500114496503222912012-04-15T20:28:00.003-07:002012-04-15T20:41:04.686-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBza7hXhz12JmqYsh-LCHIaWHa2rUyHiBRM1BK6XwNcSJ_WNp6OuJGZcepbPk8IemZf4RK1uMqRxMy47ryUpV46w0aSacwwN9Wr6DFy2wMIXP058UGbfWR30jGv4R1xWAsaj0vMu8oWs4/s1600/561345_3735518352356_1408002244_3514414_389325873_n.jpg"><img style="width: 320px; height: 240px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5731836105072621554" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBza7hXhz12JmqYsh-LCHIaWHa2rUyHiBRM1BK6XwNcSJ_WNp6OuJGZcepbPk8IemZf4RK1uMqRxMy47ryUpV46w0aSacwwN9Wr6DFy2wMIXP058UGbfWR30jGv4R1xWAsaj0vMu8oWs4/s320/561345_3735518352356_1408002244_3514414_389325873_n.jpg" /></a><br /><div>Over the weekend I traveled to Staten Island for the Miss New York Workshop. It was a four hour drive but worth every minute! The constructive criticism and preparation I collected throughout the day was amazing and I believe it is really going to help me excel even more than I thought possible! Meeting the girls was probably the best part of the day. Conversation was so comfortable but of course, why would it not be?! We all share the same dream. :)<br /> Janet was so good to us! She drove us all the way down and we then had an empire party in the hotel room! It consisted of chicken ceasar wraps and pizza. A salad for me! :p </div><div>During the workshop, one of the most special parts for me was when we had one on one time with the current Miss New York Kaitlin Monte. She is incredible. I do not believe that word is even enough to describe her. She has made me realize so many things that I already knew. She just dragged it out and changed my whole perspective on everything but most importantly myself. While she was talking to us she explained how scared she was the moment she had been crowned. She explained that all throughout the gala in the lobby, she knew she had huge shoes to fill and that a lot would be expected of her as she just earned the biggest job in New York State. She went on to say that there were times she called her mother to vent and cry. That she was scared and overwhelmed. that sometimes she did not feel confident getting ready in the morning, having anxiety that her hair was not done the right way. This meant so much to me because there are so many girls that want something so badly but they struggle very badly with confidence whether it be from an unknown source or something from childhood experience. Saturday April 14th was the first day of my pageant career that I believed in myself 100 percent that I have everything it takes to move past the Miss New York Stage. I am just as capable as every one of those young women onstage. Kaitlin helped me to realize that I am not alone and that I have the opportunity to be the owner of those keys to the car that I will be driving everywhere I possibly can as a human being. I made it a point to find her and thank her but I hope she knows just how much that changed everything for me. :) It is amazing to have someone so real as our Miss New York and I am more than honored to know her!</div><div>As the day progressed we worked with Justin Popovich in swimsuit and fitness. As we sat in the audience the music started blaring and there he was in 3 inch platforms and six inch heels! He has the most fierce walk I have ever seen and REALLY knows what he is doing LOL. I enjoyed him very much! As the day ended we were all sooo tired. I am pretty sure all three of us slept on the way home but it was such an amazing experience and I am more excited than I have ever been before for June to arrive! Thank you God, for this opportunity :)</div><div> </div><div>-Miss Empire Star, Danielle Trumbull</div><div> </div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-23758549127612582822012-04-07T12:22:00.006-07:002012-04-07T12:37:41.712-07:00<div><br /><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHZ7g0kDkCgBfcyPszxW5quiu0H1g9rxO9zH2fV3UazCgqODm2Z2MJjR5xSddi9lCjIr6W5BdCQkfENb6qIDYyJbs-uf72yKkVdSO32TzL5njYGpWw5rmOB-ugqvbcD9Z_LUc-bJd-hso/s1600/012.JPG"><img style="width: 242px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5728742352642731714" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHZ7g0kDkCgBfcyPszxW5quiu0H1g9rxO9zH2fV3UazCgqODm2Z2MJjR5xSddi9lCjIr6W5BdCQkfENb6qIDYyJbs-uf72yKkVdSO32TzL5njYGpWw5rmOB-ugqvbcD9Z_LUc-bJd-hso/s320/012.JPG" /></a><br /><div>Pins for Pets! A fantastic benefit put on by Steve Caporizzo and WTEN's Pet Connection! I was so happy to be able to make it because I was supposed to have class but it was unexpectedly cancelled. It was really special and I enjoyed being able to speak to the region I represent to tell them about the event. Bocker the famous pet was there! He was so tired that he was laying spread out on the floor by his table! He will be appearing in Men In Black 3 so watch for him! I was able to get a lot of pictures with him and I bought his book that follows his life. It was so touching to see all the people he has made amazing changes for. I informed the children about the many aspects of animal abuse and how they can protect not only themselves, but eachother as well. They learned that it is not safe to approach anyone who is hurting an animal or a person and that they should tell a trusted adult right away. They also learned that those who hurt animals will also hurt people. The most important thing I stressed to them was that they don't have to keep anything they see or experience a secret. I told them that if they say something and tell their mother, father or teacher, they could make a world of difference for a pet or a human being. By the end of my talk with them they knew that they had this power to go out into their communities and change the world not only for animals but for people just like them! It was such an enjoyable time! The kids were so excited and went absolutely crazy when I told them I had some surprises for them! after I taught them a little bit about my platform and my quest to fight for animal rights they were all ready to do the activity. These kids are so special to me and I really wanted to make sure that I visited their school first. It was where I grew up and I remembered being right where they were! I told them that I used to go to the school too and their faces just lit up! I cut out about 42 paws for them to make sure everyone had one. I had them trace their hand in the middle of the paw to represent my platform of "Eliminating Abuse against Animals is Elimination of Abuse against Humanity". This really helped them understand my main message that when we are protecting animals we are protecting people too due to the fact that those who hurt animals always go on to hurt human beings and commit violent crimes. We must be able to pinpoint these people so that we can protect our communities in the best way possible.<div><div><div><div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimg7tohhmFdx64BvuCbfsi80wRdPJMGw_yGyhxkaR-0VlffUM3YTW3Tq3WILpRflA62telxL8EGOc7cg46EuSG0FtsEslab4iYXE4TaKtNY4sNQzYL48usja9ZuFIdzvIjElxql7x4raQ/s1600/550824_3190280954140_1179355366_32633272_463184833_n.jpg"><img style="width: 320px; height: 240px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5723533045043458002" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimg7tohhmFdx64BvuCbfsi80wRdPJMGw_yGyhxkaR-0VlffUM3YTW3Tq3WILpRflA62telxL8EGOc7cg46EuSG0FtsEslab4iYXE4TaKtNY4sNQzYL48usja9ZuFIdzvIjElxql7x4raQ/s320/550824_3190280954140_1179355366_32633272_463184833_n.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-Fq3Rhq1iTRhtqSTlMBdryQhm9S1tZIV_TFD8lFjDbo_0ihyphenhyphen7LXzcxX80ulFEONxZPc1HDmttSpo0DQxwaSgqESUZ3LAwsE-rz_40l1gwgM8l_lbegIpLlI3APCXm8oGH7wX3-pH3zf0/s1600/524465_3190288714334_1179355366_32633274_2094301446_n.jpg"><img style="width: 320px; height: 240px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5723533383871581170" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-Fq3Rhq1iTRhtqSTlMBdryQhm9S1tZIV_TFD8lFjDbo_0ihyphenhyphen7LXzcxX80ulFEONxZPc1HDmttSpo0DQxwaSgqESUZ3LAwsE-rz_40l1gwgM8l_lbegIpLlI3APCXm8oGH7wX3-pH3zf0/s320/524465_3190288714334_1179355366_32633274_2094301446_n.jpg" /></a></div><div>There was one little girl in particular who was really pulling at my heart strings. It was hard to leave them! </div><div> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeSYkgH3J1BT7LIYX4XtCuZlXtDhbvE9pYPPSSWS6RrLFC4pHLy6JtXbXfjpUidOsUSRzcFlR3e_Pq4lYEECa1AyaJCgrLLz7w39Ul5Wwjdd8c7tIxXNXljW8xg1Fa-BjFvWxiNnbEOmU/s1600/558654_354373417939175_100000995582328_993816_2134003316_n.jpg"><img style="width: 242px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5723536584192459234" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeSYkgH3J1BT7LIYX4XtCuZlXtDhbvE9pYPPSSWS6RrLFC4pHLy6JtXbXfjpUidOsUSRzcFlR3e_Pq4lYEECa1AyaJCgrLLz7w39Ul5Wwjdd8c7tIxXNXljW8xg1Fa-BjFvWxiNnbEOmU/s320/558654_354373417939175_100000995582328_993816_2134003316_n.jpg" /></a></div><div>Later in the day I made an appearance at the "Pawesome Party" in broadalbin. This was a benefit put on by the PTSO within the school district. The idea of the benefit was that for every item brought by guests, they received a raffle ticket for the various prizes in the gymnasium. Each child also received a raffle ticket if they participated in getting their face painted. It was such a cute idea and I was so honored to have been a guest. My job was to give out the raffle tickets, glow sticks and scooby snacks! One little girl literally thought I was offering her dog biscuits LOL her face was priceless! She was happily surprised when she learned they were graham crackers! A mother with two absolutely beautiful twin daughters helped me at the greeting table. Her girls were so shy but soon wanted to go out onto the floor with me to read off the raffle tickets. They did such a great job! They took a picture with me and their pretty feet and I just swear they will both be Miss America someday!</div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjm4adIe6NOpWGF3YLHaM3wk_DLA7bG-Tc58won6js3UbNIL_n2DiNcpPhuruuswt35bNOE0V0LOes8NZ0AypsppfwxN-JO7bgRCDWpwjiJ_puhS26ne4zSUyZp5Yxp_SONsJdFzEN2YI/s1600/548337_354373487939168_100000995582328_993818_110489571_n.jpg"><img style="width: 242px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5723537729025629218" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjm4adIe6NOpWGF3YLHaM3wk_DLA7bG-Tc58won6js3UbNIL_n2DiNcpPhuruuswt35bNOE0V0LOes8NZ0AypsppfwxN-JO7bgRCDWpwjiJ_puhS26ne4zSUyZp5Yxp_SONsJdFzEN2YI/s320/548337_354373487939168_100000995582328_993818_110489571_n.jpg" /></a> Later in the evening I engaged in a good old fashion cotton eye joe dance with the kids! It was a sight to be seen for sure lol but it was really fun! <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJV2qhth-p_pajRr_du9xTuxPOijAWtNxCq1OHzmck7Pm2oGzrC0ExZ9F2JNmbwQx9KTqA-xUtljvgYDNEZqzIh5-PsqJLCYYMbzSBsKDXqXAb7DyFdS6M4GWXSCXo-yuZjETZIJhQYk8/s1600/539334_354373614605822_100000995582328_993821_312015677_n.jpg"><img style="width: 320px; height: 242px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5723538407268040722" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJV2qhth-p_pajRr_du9xTuxPOijAWtNxCq1OHzmck7Pm2oGzrC0ExZ9F2JNmbwQx9KTqA-xUtljvgYDNEZqzIh5-PsqJLCYYMbzSBsKDXqXAb7DyFdS6M4GWXSCXo-yuZjETZIJhQYk8/s320/539334_354373614605822_100000995582328_993821_312015677_n.jpg" /></a>The kids really enjoyed themselves and in all we collected about one hundred dollars in food and supply items for the Montgomerey SPCA! We took a picture with all of the food together for the newspaper and it was just amazing to see what the kids had done. I am so proud of them! The whole benefit was put on by Nancy Carr and a few volunteers and it was an outstanding outcome! My head really hurt from having that crown on all day, but I never want to take it off! I have worked so hard to get it and now I am able to use it to make huge differences in my communities and spread my platform message. I am determined to win this fight for animal rights and I am so thankful to the Miss America Organization, The Miss Empire Star organization and all of the people who honor me with appearance requests. Without them I would not be able to fight for animals as much as I do and teach others just how important it is to love them. We have the power to make a world of difference for them so let's start now!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-44005555151759678412012-03-22T18:23:00.006-07:002012-03-22T19:21:44.010-07:00A visit to WTEN10!<div><br /><div><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLfEooAXt-hSeKhirnTCMYyt_Oit_I5uoV1Nf-GPhuALF2ZC-a85NIME4xWQEkp0MgG2ogJajjoxlpX0Q_0J62NL3BMvkyFPbL64Dw8x0cln0_i61LSUeXmcMjsKSLc1OHyy0PxlG9f68/s1600/105.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 242px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722901965459525026" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLfEooAXt-hSeKhirnTCMYyt_Oit_I5uoV1Nf-GPhuALF2ZC-a85NIME4xWQEkp0MgG2ogJajjoxlpX0Q_0J62NL3BMvkyFPbL64Dw8x0cln0_i61LSUeXmcMjsKSLc1OHyy0PxlG9f68/s320/105.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div>I have been so excited all week to go down to Albany and meet with the one and only Steve Caporizzo! I was able to talk with him about my platform and receive his input on what else I should be focusing on. It was great to get someone's opinion who has been working for animal causes for a long time! We discussed how education is the primary ingredient in the fight for animal rights and that it is important to spread awareness as I do with my platform work! Buster's Law not being enforced is a large problem. The law has been passed but it is now time to strictly enforce it so we can better protect animals. Those who hurt animals will be guaranteed to hurt human beings at a later time. This law is just one of the many ways we can stop abusers and those who engage in violence in their reckless tracks. </div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD_z7nd4IaMzILx-_TnVTwYSYg3sPHSQWZpqA3io3j2b_GSyppi6EobcsbCOYXXi5le7x3ZU-YgXXejUgZgaRXL79jNZxg0oKaJ7HTM_dZkoj6Sxixw6SnifnDPqNnmEE_4EsisoB3oko/s1600/104.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 317px; HEIGHT: 201px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722902126620579586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhD_z7nd4IaMzILx-_TnVTwYSYg3sPHSQWZpqA3io3j2b_GSyppi6EobcsbCOYXXi5le7x3ZU-YgXXejUgZgaRXL79jNZxg0oKaJ7HTM_dZkoj6Sxixw6SnifnDPqNnmEE_4EsisoB3oko/s320/104.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div>I arrived at exactly 4:30 pm and met a lot of the news crew. I brought with me some blankets and handkerchiefs for the animal shelter( Mohawk Hudson Humane Society) that is involved with Steve's Pet Connection! I believe that animals are adopted at faster rates if they are presented in a way that is "pageantized"! We have to dress them up with accessories and advertise them so that people who are thinking about adoption will feel they are more adoptable. This has been proven! I thought the blankets and the handkerchief would help the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society's endeavors regarding adoption.</div><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9fhlZ8RZPrk0b_fkNnlT_jORpv8lw_plmcyzh9FygAB0yW150jaEp3IFTOytctNgsMwLPByLpPz3-Pu0ufnKvIg27q3OqbeL6L5SMkyD5-PkfqeD1SxtYivZErOi-ijMQPuXxyct4m_I/s1600/108.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 242px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722907659501037298" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9fhlZ8RZPrk0b_fkNnlT_jORpv8lw_plmcyzh9FygAB0yW150jaEp3IFTOytctNgsMwLPByLpPz3-Pu0ufnKvIg27q3OqbeL6L5SMkyD5-PkfqeD1SxtYivZErOi-ijMQPuXxyct4m_I/s320/108.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqwvsxTAkMrzp_bnfhxehcPpLr578WNHYPQgn-qzPs5VYNzO7G_nKIRJyWdGt58XOP7mK34QVyKqyORXpgmO5APXAMytR6MEqTO0puo4X_K1yQqb_YTcGqTZ4U8kuxrbqn_7qU7CJUxtA/s1600/103.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 242px; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722904736439334146" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqwvsxTAkMrzp_bnfhxehcPpLr578WNHYPQgn-qzPs5VYNzO7G_nKIRJyWdGt58XOP7mK34QVyKqyORXpgmO5APXAMytR6MEqTO0puo4X_K1yQqb_YTcGqTZ4U8kuxrbqn_7qU7CJUxtA/s320/103.JPG" /></a></div><br /><div>I was surprised to be asked to come back into the studio to watch Steve and the other anchors report their segments live! It was really special to me how the entire news team made me feel like a part of their team myself as a guest. They are all very welcoming to those who admire them and to anyone who visits their studio. As Steve was going through his emails he explained to me that he has over 1800 emails from february 18th and that it is just impossibly time consuming to get to each one although he tries and does his best. For him to answer my email meant a lot to me in the first place. But it meant even more when I was shown just how many emails he has to contend with on a daily basis between facebook and standard email. Chester the Pekingese arrived around quarter after five! He was so full of life and would not stop wagging his tail! As soon as his feet hit the carpet in the backroom he began to explore starting with those closest to him. :) He was also very intrigued by the treats being passed around from person to person! When he got on camera during the Pet Connection segment, it was like he knew he was on camera. All we wanted to do was roll around and get his belly rubbed! He was so cute! I don't see how he will go without being adopted for very much longer :) It was really nice to be so welcomed and to get professional input on what else I should be doing with my platform! I will cherish and remember this day for the rest of my life. Steve Caporizzo is a true role model in our communities. He has a huge heart not only for animals but for people as well and it was such a pleasure to be able to meet him and spend some time at the studio! We need to remember the animal legislation that has already been passed and push to not strengthen it but to enforce it strongly and without exceptions! We must push for those laws that have not been passed yet that will provide for more protection for animals and we must educate our communities not only about animal abuse but about the strong ongoing correlation between animal abuse and violent acts against humanity. We can drastically reduce violence if not ambitiously eliminate it altogether if we can better pinpoint who is a possible danger ot more likely to be a danger. Also, I cannot stress enough how important spaying and neutering is. The procedure can be pricey but it is so worth the money. If we keep up the amazing volunteer efforts that have been in effect so far we can take that 27% euthanization rate down to 0% Please help me in my endeavors to spread my platform and it's messages as far as I can! Steve Caporizzo and his crew have made significant differences and we can too!</div></div></div></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-81695149455224680322012-03-22T05:44:00.003-07:002012-03-22T05:58:15.675-07:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXRcNKGwaMg6eCCZdTEvtYRNfQAoPM3gKuz4ct6s8pHj0l_ygSY_ogXjtQQh366OdZ9ezElRO1dEyvbr-nzZZasLCO0TBFPwT_lJyiMmMpk301iGUUzW-vfyHJK17pD9g6E2kUDuKL3r4/s1600/jackies.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 320px; HEIGHT: 240px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722704549144058450" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXRcNKGwaMg6eCCZdTEvtYRNfQAoPM3gKuz4ct6s8pHj0l_ygSY_ogXjtQQh366OdZ9ezElRO1dEyvbr-nzZZasLCO0TBFPwT_lJyiMmMpk301iGUUzW-vfyHJK17pD9g6E2kUDuKL3r4/s320/jackies.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div>I used to be a dancer believe it or not! I attended Jackie Sweeney's Creative dance studio and have known her for almost all of my life. Jackie is the definition of an influential role model in our community and she often takes the time to make sure every one of her students feel comfortable and special as an individual. My longtime friend Sara White still takes lessons from Jackie to this day and I visited them last night at their dance class! I had gone to show the girls my apparel for the Miss Fulton County pageant a few months prior and they were very active and expressive about their opinions on my wardrobe and just talking to me and having a good time in general :) Because of their outstanding opinions, I decided to tweak a few things and I now have a title! So I went back to thank them and to watch their new dances for the recital in May! Sara has been deaf since a very young age and learned sign language in an extremely short amount of time. She is absolutely amazing at being able to communicate this way. Jackie has chosen songs for Sara to sign as the rest of her class signs with her in the background. This was so heartwarming for me to see because when we were in elementary school I often stood between Sara and bullies. This is no longer a reality for Sara at least in her dance class :) She is made to feel special and admired and I along with many others have waited so long to see that happen for her. She always has been and it is time that she is shown that. Thanks to Jackie and her friends in her dance class, she will know she is admired every day even when her dance class is only once a week :)</div><br /><br /><br /><div>I loved watching the girls dance and sign! Dianne and I had our own little private preview of the recital! The theme will be The Little Mermaid and sealife. I performed my talent song for them as well! It was a great way to spend the evening :)</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-14062048152843849642012-03-21T05:44:00.005-07:002012-03-21T06:13:26.178-07:00The Regional Animal Shelter in Fulton County!<span style="color:#ff6666;">Last night I was given the opportunity to join an amazing group of people who have not only made large strides for positive changes for animals, but for the people of our community as well. The regional shelter will be open within a month and there are so many great ideas concerning fundraising! There will be a pet CPR class that will be open to the public and especially veteranarians. I will definitely be taking the class! :) It will be $85.00 a person and one hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the shelter. We discussed microchips which is fairly new to our community. A dog or a cat can be injected with the microchip which has its own number or code. If a pet gets lost, the vet will be able to scan the number on the computer and find out the location of the pet. I think it will prevent a lot of animals from going to the shelter after being seperated from their family. Overall, this organization along with their efforts will be making a huge difference for our community in that they stress spaying and neutering and the shelter will be able to take in and offer services to a lot of animals that would not receive help otherwise. Meetings are every third tuesday of the month at the town hall in Johnstown. We can always use more volunteers!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitLYXcXLl4GUf17XKRUlLCjnMEE3uddMx0tImtCe0U9KK9LAlhIQ-SoOp9PHwOqLgdE-jq9nFxNHqMZQxJDFVQ1YTOrWdbmIi5iDYTvZdy2dNwD6m1xHyN1Xg18ex7ixYJviKp1H6Juek/s1600/meeting.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 305px; HEIGHT: 229px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722332635793737874" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEitLYXcXLl4GUf17XKRUlLCjnMEE3uddMx0tImtCe0U9KK9LAlhIQ-SoOp9PHwOqLgdE-jq9nFxNHqMZQxJDFVQ1YTOrWdbmIi5iDYTvZdy2dNwD6m1xHyN1Xg18ex7ixYJviKp1H6Juek/s320/meeting.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGW3N_Zgo20-od-QMzVnBmOpRGzN6-ocCVhIaIdj6PHh6bQ3HPwCZx2fCwJIrC9PZvT8-syR_VyW9yu4Ac4liJbatu_nAgvmuaoAUN9c0A5anu6kkmrf0SMQNYSvPQC51bCvPjKX0fOyo/s1600/meeting1.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 312px; HEIGHT: 228px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722335069273480962" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGW3N_Zgo20-od-QMzVnBmOpRGzN6-ocCVhIaIdj6PHh6bQ3HPwCZx2fCwJIrC9PZvT8-syR_VyW9yu4Ac4liJbatu_nAgvmuaoAUN9c0A5anu6kkmrf0SMQNYSvPQC51bCvPjKX0fOyo/s320/meeting1.jpg" /></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYBURGIhN2zo6to5E9kLj2juWCc2D-pamBgXX67fdDTDyGBEQ_gJ-TCnkN3ZJ84X6nS6Iqu60088VvuX8apkyctoNvvDZ8UTlM44t4n9kNeL5G0bIuftWbPHV26gepjuOMUgpKVpB2SIM/s1600/meeting2.jpg"><img style="WIDTH: 266px; HEIGHT: 241px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5722336345250330466" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjYBURGIhN2zo6to5E9kLj2juWCc2D-pamBgXX67fdDTDyGBEQ_gJ-TCnkN3ZJ84X6nS6Iqu60088VvuX8apkyctoNvvDZ8UTlM44t4n9kNeL5G0bIuftWbPHV26gepjuOMUgpKVpB2SIM/s320/meeting2.jpg" /></a></span><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#ff6666;"></span></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-91050485079689850522012-03-18T20:07:00.013-07:002012-03-18T21:31:16.919-07:00<div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">What an amazing day Saturday was! It was definitely extremely busy and I did wake up at 4:30 am from excitement :p But it was all so worth it! The day started off with a hair appointment at 8. My hair was incredible compliments to Nancy Mcaleese! I then came home to get ready for the Albany St. Patrick's Day parade. Katelynn and rode on a 65 GTO. I overheard the owner say what kind of car it was and was so proud to pretend I knew something about cars! :p The parade was overwhelmed with people! This time thankfully there were no riots. However. there were plenty of adorable dogs! One of the things that is most important when participating in a parade is to make sure you do not miss anyone! People were so comfortable coming up and talking to us and it really made my day. The best thing about the parade was the thousands of smiles in the crowd. People were having a great time and I was a part of the reason they were smiling. It does not get better than that! It was incredible to be a part of the community Katelynn and I are representing.<br /></span></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"> </span></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 320px; height: 242px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721441696825879954" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxyGz0YL95BuW1wudYvIUXDxx8uaGWfGaUsHzrsa5eAWtYvjJhpyoN-R6rfSNJkKblsMKH7JHdH6pgaZhuTIDhYIAhYAaoFJuj9QYh1VlKJGMXgMEli9YQsjH3blma_CDTQcJUPbvuDCU/s320/111.JPG" /></span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7nWlaqdkowblLOaiZpDMOXSgDYb11fD-qli7r2qr8bTmNZWh655b8wKI7raqAvJMKTPqwODj1DZJB0aYuz6UIeGlXj_ee9UwLgslmKJJyNVY9jtnQJah87wSsjurxvh4p9hQwqtrzsY4/s1600/107.JPG"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 320px; height: 242px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721442249150502658" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh7nWlaqdkowblLOaiZpDMOXSgDYb11fD-qli7r2qr8bTmNZWh655b8wKI7raqAvJMKTPqwODj1DZJB0aYuz6UIeGlXj_ee9UwLgslmKJJyNVY9jtnQJah87wSsjurxvh4p9hQwqtrzsY4/s320/107.JPG" /></span></a></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"> </span></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">We were also guests at the Miss Mohawk Valley pageant where the beautiful Miss New York, Kaitlin Monte, co-hosted the pageant. It was so inspiring to sit in the audience and listen to her beautiful words. She is an amazing public speaker! I really admire her for having time for anyone who has questions for her whether it be fellow sisters of the Miss America Organization or a child struggling with bullying. (That is her platform.) She made sure everyone in the audience received the message that you will only shine if you let it come from the inside. We don't need to have expensive gowns, fancy makeup or even a crown on our heads to show the world what is inside of us. I hope a lot of young ladies were able to hear her incredible message. I hope many will get ithe message from reading this blog! You are beautiful <3</span></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">The pageant was a blast to watch. Laurie Jean Britton is the field director and she always puts on a great pageant every year. Competing in her pageants is so much fun you almost don't want to leave! This year I sat in the audience and I swear it was more nerveracking than actually competing! I know a lot of the girls who competed quite well and I wanted them all to win! Unfortunately that is not possible :p Third runner up was Jessica Lape, second runner up was Katherine Bant, first runner up was Heather Graves and Courtney Sheridan is our new Miss Mohawk Valley 2012! Lynn Tryon was gorgeous and heartwarming as she always is and her and her mother are two of the most generous and thoughtful people I have ever met. They made my sister queen and I matching pink pearl bracelets which I will most definitely be taking to states as a reminder of all of those who believe in me starting with Lynn and her family <3 Thank you Lynn! Not that I was not planning on putting my all into competing and representing the Albany area..but knowing how much you believe in me will help push me the extra mile! I love you! Also a special thanks to Katelynn's mom and my own mother who spent the entire long day with us taking pictures and being there for anything we have needed. My mother has done this for me since the day I was born and God blessed me with putting her in my life as a key figure and role model.</span></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"> </span></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix95Ptjdf9tgSw_VotFxo3Jnw9fjdTMMjnjwg-aLO0PmbySE-Fli-Mn6LT76mGIOk-yTYJIYUTemuBj4lQa6QvkucCj2-h0KkfsMD1pITyEY0K3BwhElKnVq9647zDZmAKhl2OKsKtop4/s1600/112.JPG"></a><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"> </span></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"> </span><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix95Ptjdf9tgSw_VotFxo3Jnw9fjdTMMjnjwg-aLO0PmbySE-Fli-Mn6LT76mGIOk-yTYJIYUTemuBj4lQa6QvkucCj2-h0KkfsMD1pITyEY0K3BwhElKnVq9647zDZmAKhl2OKsKtop4/s1600/112.JPG"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 242px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721447530682113778" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEix95Ptjdf9tgSw_VotFxo3Jnw9fjdTMMjnjwg-aLO0PmbySE-Fli-Mn6LT76mGIOk-yTYJIYUTemuBj4lQa6QvkucCj2-h0KkfsMD1pITyEY0K3BwhElKnVq9647zDZmAKhl2OKsKtop4/s320/112.JPG" /></span></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6VMrrRQcn-YnW11Ci_dY5fRTi9EwXm20G6qdBTdgFPsRix9KFe65M_jCQUKNz4AtQtvDKPQSXWS2EQM6hdzweMPUSlpTPx1RaGTL2H7eTkCZGmwD3Hf08uoXP7nxyGaZu833EO_DrI70/s1600/119.JPG"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 242px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721447876902700178" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6VMrrRQcn-YnW11Ci_dY5fRTi9EwXm20G6qdBTdgFPsRix9KFe65M_jCQUKNz4AtQtvDKPQSXWS2EQM6hdzweMPUSlpTPx1RaGTL2H7eTkCZGmwD3Hf08uoXP7nxyGaZu833EO_DrI70/s320/119.JPG" /></span></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFNkT3L_TxOVstNdUcRU8RQ4WPj1LJLFhix3yPZzJ0DkauM23aF-IIDZwWSRf2H426YGghsvjv8RO9qcIt-a-OafTtCWAH6orDCDuFxTEQZOyzdHKDJqsDo0gYSZ6FdJahrAd4TgDuC8c/s1600/114.JPG"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 320px; height: 242px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721448455489990594" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFNkT3L_TxOVstNdUcRU8RQ4WPj1LJLFhix3yPZzJ0DkauM23aF-IIDZwWSRf2H426YGghsvjv8RO9qcIt-a-OafTtCWAH6orDCDuFxTEQZOyzdHKDJqsDo0gYSZ6FdJahrAd4TgDuC8c/s320/114.JPG" /></span></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJhDEIsuqAr9HxgYXtXtwx9zZWpHp7qASwzwyhBHwq4Em_pw96gcSzly3eU6QuOKCxrCH0Dzpkv0lzKhGwveaUEeqi-8bL4RL9ZXGTpenpG5BWnkDW9bR5WUcGngZJnBPri6XwxruSh0c/s1600/120.JPG"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 242px; height: 320px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721449607320015890" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiJhDEIsuqAr9HxgYXtXtwx9zZWpHp7qASwzwyhBHwq4Em_pw96gcSzly3eU6QuOKCxrCH0Dzpkv0lzKhGwveaUEeqi-8bL4RL9ZXGTpenpG5BWnkDW9bR5WUcGngZJnBPri6XwxruSh0c/s320/120.JPG" /></span></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA_4Hzt6M3p0rrvVw1R2hY3PFDI1hsHgSRFAI-0M_MyUmgq939LQTyDCPmZ9wbdg7AuDb8GOfsNLZJXUse7HxwlNMU1-HEUyBOfkAdwOdPAVJomE3gDSCtSuqkliBQiADlH2Zn52ttL28/s1600/maple+syrup.jpg"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 320px; height: 240px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721450048797811714" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiA_4Hzt6M3p0rrvVw1R2hY3PFDI1hsHgSRFAI-0M_MyUmgq939LQTyDCPmZ9wbdg7AuDb8GOfsNLZJXUse7HxwlNMU1-HEUyBOfkAdwOdPAVJomE3gDSCtSuqkliBQiADlH2Zn52ttL28/s320/maple+syrup.jpg" /></span></a><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFGEVctK4AnXsKdH-UxY1VeMs82pdDkOboecl2BW4y2kHe9NLJBh1nU5Tv8j5cIMNOiB_ZFkKx3EyZ21C-LoRUIDgb7JV0gDNsIWGq-qAU_OpdYMSwtaaJ2zo95WohiDY2JFf-EZ3ZYBQ/s1600/116.JPG"><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"><img style="width: 320px; height: 242px; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5721450470740350802" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFGEVctK4AnXsKdH-UxY1VeMs82pdDkOboecl2BW4y2kHe9NLJBh1nU5Tv8j5cIMNOiB_ZFkKx3EyZ21C-LoRUIDgb7JV0gDNsIWGq-qAU_OpdYMSwtaaJ2zo95WohiDY2JFf-EZ3ZYBQ/s320/116.JPG" /></span></a></div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);"></span> </div><div><span style="color: rgb(153, 51, 153);">The day was spent with many people I really love and care about. But that is ok. I think that is a quick fix and that just means I have a lot of appearances and events to go to! I can hardly wait to get home and start everything I have planned! I will be attending Miss Mohawk Valley ( good luck everyone! <3)and the Albany's St. Patrick's Day Parade this saturday followed by a possible fashion show at the east greenbush fashion bug on Sunday! On monday I will go to my elementary school where I spent so many years of my life, and I will make my game plan with the principal about what I will be speaking to the children about.<br />Because my platform promotes animal rights and welfare it almost works as a channel to speak to children about bullying and how we should treat others. I am so excited to spend time with the children and get them started on the activities! Because there is an animal advocacy day I am planning to have them each color a heart with their handprint in the middle of it. We will turn it into a big collage that they will be able to keep in their classroom to remind them about what we talked about. I hope they enjoy it! </span><br /><span style="color:#993399;">There is an event happening at the Broadalbin perth high school called the "pawesome party". It is March 23rd and it starts at 6 pm :) It is a fundraiser for the local animal shelters and homeless pets in our area. There will be concession stands for different types of food, and facepainting as well as a social gathering for animal lovers! That is the best part :p </span><br /><span style="color:#993399;">I will continue to keep everyone</span> <span style="color:#993399;">updated! My goal does not end there however. I will now compete for Miss New York and hopefully advance to the Miss America pageant! With a platform involving animal rights and the correlation between animal abuse and all other acts of violence, I am hoping to send a broad message to society that we can drastically reduce violence if not ambitiously eliminate it altogether if we are able to recognize these relationships. </span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#6600cc;">The pageant took place at the Shenendohowa senior center and was held in Clifton Park. Janet Murphy is my first executive director! She has a heart of gold and is always concerned about every one of her girls that compete in her pageant and even the girls that aged out and have competed in her pageant in the past. I love all of the pageants I have been involved with but this pageant,I have to say, is such a stress free environment. I was literally running on about three hours of sleep and had so much adrenaline throughout the competition that I did not even feel the fatigue! The girls I was privileged to compete with were both experienced in pageantry and new to pageants altogether! You would have never been able to tell the difference between them! All of them I know will go on to make state proud and will leave an impressionable mark in our system. Trust me you will see! They are amazing! </span></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#6600cc;">There were so many people at the pageant that have watched me work for this and have offered me so much advice and support! It meant so much to me and it was so emotionally overwhelming to see how many people are there for me and rooting me on! Jennifer Pollard, Miss Empire Star 2011 has left some big shoes to fill! </span></div><br /><div><span style="color:#6600cc;">Katelynn Smith, my sister queen and long time friend has won the title of Miss Empire Rose 2012 and she has worked so hard as well. I completely agree with her that this needs to be brought out into the spotlight so here is a little information on the "banned breed" and some explanations as to why they should not be discriminated against when it comes to adoption. </div><br /><br /><br /><div>It is important to note that ANY dog of ANY breed will act accordingly to the way they were brought up and the experiences that they had during that time. If a dog is treated with kindness and all of the needs a dog requires are met, they are likely to be of a gentle and loving nature like any other dog would be. But when an animal is put through abuse and horrific situations they are likely to have their guard up. They will be afraid and their instincts will tell them "protect yourself". It is only natural not only in animals but in humans as well. Don't you think back on things you have gone through in your past? Do you think about all of the cautions you have to take to protect yourself from that situation happening again? Humans often put their guard up or block out traumatic events that happened in their lives and animals will do the same no matter what breed they are born into. This is what I am trying to stress to my own community and to everyone on the internet!</div><br /><br /><br /><div>Not to get off topic but this subject brings to mind Oreo's law. A female pitbull who was abused repeatedly and eventually thrown off the top of a building by her heartless owner. She survived with two shattered legs and some broken ribs, but she also survived with a fear of humans and the natural reaction that she had to protect herself from all. She was taken in by the ASPCA who nursed her back to health but shortly after they euthanized her despite requests from shelters who offered to take her in and guaranteed her lifetime care. Their reasons for killing Oreo was that she was too aggressive and could not be trusted around humans or other animals. Oreo's law says that the ASPCA is forbidden to put any animal to death if a request to take them in is made by a rescue shelter. The rescue shelter realized that what she went through for her entire life caused her to be aggressive while it doesnt look like the ASPCA took that into consideration...</div><br /><br /><br /><div>This is a solid example of how a dog will react to the way they have been treated. Please if you go to a shelter to adopt an animal don't skip the kennel with the pitbull inside. They will be as loyal and loving as any other animal at that shelter as long as they have been cared for properly by the shelter and their history before entering the shelter is not horrendous. Check with the administrators of the shelter about the animal's background as a precaution. These loving animals need homes just as much as the other breeds of dogs who end up in shelters. Don't discriminate by appearance or breed!</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div><a href="http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/pospress.php">http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/pospress.php</a></div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div>here is a list of heroic pitbulls that have made a difference in communities everywhere and have changed the stereotype that humans have placed upon their breed :)</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><div>Thank you for reading and please recommend this to your friends!</div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-53873157161999756142012-01-16T19:15:00.000-08:002012-01-16T19:44:25.003-08:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPVNdzeg8vmLBAI5PCVsCIr_RWYCThFFjvQ_srqK6f94y_5T3K_VzTnrm7cgi6JTDVJ73Jm3jECgrQZXZBMU8BCrlVne0QBWEnwuzi4DXQvkV1wy0lDjdpw-UV5HjYi2TdPGFUpLLb_7k/s1600/andrea.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5698441495069373186" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPVNdzeg8vmLBAI5PCVsCIr_RWYCThFFjvQ_srqK6f94y_5T3K_VzTnrm7cgi6JTDVJ73Jm3jECgrQZXZBMU8BCrlVne0QBWEnwuzi4DXQvkV1wy0lDjdpw-UV5HjYi2TdPGFUpLLb_7k/s320/andrea.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">There has been a lot going on in the world of animals and pet owners! Everytime I open the newspaper or log onto a news website there is an article about a brave little animal that survived euthanasia or a change in animal rights legislation! It is so good to see the growing interest in preventing animal abuse and animal activism!!! (shown at right is "Andrea" the cat who's story is mentioned further into the blog)</span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">The new animal shelter on west fulton st in fulton county that received donations in 2007 has finished it's contruction and has been insulated. Great news for fulton county! It will definitely help with the over abundance of animals on the street and the spaying and neutering problem.</span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">One of the things I am most excited about is that it is actually possible to become A KILL SHELTER FREE NATION by 2015!!!! Corporate funds have increasingly gone towards animal causes and have contributed 30 million so far. By 2015 we will have an estimated 70 million. Most of that money will go to spaying and nuetering due to the costs of this procedure most often being too expensive for pet owners. This will then serve as an alternative to euthanization and we will no longer use that method for population control! I cannot stress this piece of advice enough to new pet owners..please do whatever you can to make sure your pet is spayed and neutered so that we can prevent further killings of innocent animals! </span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">I'm not sure how many have heard the inspiring story about a cat named "Andrea" who survived two euthanization attempts in a Utah shelter but if you haven't it is likely to break your heart. Andrea had such a will to live that she survived two attempts of the shelter taking her life. The second time the shelter thought they had succeeded and put her in a bag in a freezer. They soon found that she had thrown up on herself and was still alive. It is sad to think that they would put this innocent animal through two attempts or any attempts at all. Her story grew rapidly and had a happy ending! she was adopted. :) It is stories like hers that should open America's eyes to the need to eliminate kill shelters. They are hideous options to controlling populations and our society is too civil to partake in it. Let her be an inspiration to be a voice for these animals and to join organizations that fight the concept of kill shelters!!</span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">I will be competing in the Miss Fulton County pageant which is a preliminary to the Miss America pageant and throughout my entire pageant career my platform has been preventing animal abuse and neglect. People will often ask me why my platform is not "preventing child abuse" or " preventing abusive relationships". My answer is always that my platform already includes all of that. If we can recognize the relationship between animal abuse and violence in general we are protecting all. One of my major goals is to help my community and beyond to understand the correlation between animal abuse and all other kinds of violence. Ninety- nine percet of criminals in our jails have abused an animal before commiting a crime of another nature that landed them in prison. Anti- social personality disorder is usually to blame for animal abuse ad all crimes against humanity. Some of the most important traits to recognize in this disorder is disregard to all lawful regulations and having no remorse towards the violent crimes they have committed. It really is a scary disorder that exists in the world and our communities need to be aware of it's dangers. The famous "Buster's Law" was named after a tabby cat that was set on fire by a 16 yearold named chester williamson. In Chester's life since, there has been a lengthy list of crimes and in his past before hurting "Buster" a lengthy list of animal abuse incidents. :/ This is just one of many examples!</span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">Lastly I'd just like to say that if you ever see an animal being abused or are suspicious please do not be afraid to be their voice! It is important to report anonomously for your own safety because people who abuse animals intentionally are usually dangerous. Some animals will never know love, kindness, comfort or companionship but you may be the only reason they do. </span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">SPREAD THE WORD! We can accomplish both a kill shelter free nation and preventing violence in our communities! Thanks so much for reading!</span></div><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;"></span></div><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">Danielle <3</span></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-6485403553405812052011-11-14T09:16:00.000-08:002011-11-14T09:26:52.959-08:00<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGHxLYgSSJnLESrPoJAekB2NKSuQkFJVJ3II8lOHzMMAYsJKrr1SW1229X0ipTunVYBZI-XpYGZeS30KJig_iJadryTx_M_E9m-S3fwkdk3TM-vKthnvev8LWVamcXZzPt7yRbS6VqHc/s1600/puppies_icon.jpg"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 320px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 211px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5674904233956070530" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjXGHxLYgSSJnLESrPoJAekB2NKSuQkFJVJ3II8lOHzMMAYsJKrr1SW1229X0ipTunVYBZI-XpYGZeS30KJig_iJadryTx_M_E9m-S3fwkdk3TM-vKthnvev8LWVamcXZzPt7yRbS6VqHc/s320/puppies_icon.jpg" /></a><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">There is an organization I think every animal lover and animal rights activist should be aware of and its called the "Best friends animal society". This shelter/animal rights organization has made significant progress already in one of their main goals to reduce the numbers of animals killed in shelters annually. They have succeeded in bringing that number down to five million but that number is still terrible. More ideas and initiatives are going to need to be brought to attention and put into action so that this organization and anyone wishing to help can bring this ugly number of 5 million down to 0. :) </span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">It will continue to show through that anyone who abuses an animal or is not kind to them will most definitely be willing to commit a violent crime against humanity. We need to identify this correlation and make a difference not only for the animals affected but for our communities. This is not only about one kind of abuse or danger. This is about protecting every living breathing thing that should never have to endure such torture and disfortune. We are protecting our communities in ways we never have before with this concept. If you ate curious about getting involved here is the website explaining any question you could possibly have!<a href="http://www.bestfriends.org/aboutus/">http://www.bestfriends.org/aboutus/</a></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;"></span></div><br /><br /><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">I'll leave you with the philosophy of the best friends animal society: "Kindness to animals creates a better world" I could never say it better myself!</span></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-87271542556923770212011-10-31T13:18:00.000-07:002011-10-31T13:26:14.476-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwnNiS8webQrxD377Fzuf9HgwXgcnEmUTdN5d77L9DTDuKydJjWHDnPQ8hyL829v9EtMSNot-TT5uf3lqL4s4BH0cEn7pNDmoPmgkQrN3QSwi-jkGGJIY4TQwpgjbIFlvB5KMGi94zmeA/s1600/picture+of+animal+supplies+and+me.png"><img style="margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px; width: 320px; height: 240px; float: right; cursor: pointer;" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5669753702974909746" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwnNiS8webQrxD377Fzuf9HgwXgcnEmUTdN5d77L9DTDuKydJjWHDnPQ8hyL829v9EtMSNot-TT5uf3lqL4s4BH0cEn7pNDmoPmgkQrN3QSwi-jkGGJIY4TQwpgjbIFlvB5KMGi94zmeA/s320/picture+of+animal+supplies+and+me.png" /></a><br /><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">Here is a picture of some of the food I collected. Im trying to get the picture of the group who held the contest as well but my phone confuses me a little lol. So that will be up on here by the weekend hopefully. I have the cute little pink hair strand in for breast cancer awareness! October is a good month :p I have delivered the food to Helping Paws and I now need to find time to get out to the animal shelter in Herkimer :p I am joining a sorority on campus called sigma delta tau. Theyre pretty awesome! No hazing and no nonsense! We just volunteer and make new friendships. :) its a really nice group. I cant wait to see what our next projects are going to be. This weekend Ill be going home to see my cousin in albany and then next weekend is the veterans day parade and the informational mixer for Miss Fulton County! It's gaining on us! I have pretty much everything I need and now Im just putting the last touches on my application.</span></div><div><span style="color:#cc33cc;">We are just starting the food vs fuel project which is an effort to provide the elderly with food for the winter so that they don't have to choose between being warm and being fed. So many of our elderly in communities cannot afford to heat their homes and buy groceries at the same time. so we are going to change that for 16 families this winter :) Ill have an article update up by tonight. Stay warm!</span></div>Danielle Trumbull (Miss Empire Star)http://www.blogger.com/profile/12609624757005001103noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8418554561323321556.post-7774310713734088562011-09-13T12:57:00.000-07:002011-09-13T13:13:32.917-07:00<a href="http://thepageantplanet.com/blog/how-to-reduce-pageant-interview-anxiety.html">http://thepageantplanet.com/blog/how-to-reduce-pageant-interview-anxiety.html</a><br /><span style="color:#cc33cc;">if anyone has anxieties in pageants during the interview portion this might help you out!
